Any time we get to go to the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, its a treat. Be it for lunch in the Library bar or because we are photographing a wedding. Having just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary, Ryan and I were feeling nostalgic for our own wedding held on the 19th floor of the Royal York when we were there last month to photograph the prep for the Toronto wedding of Carly & Adam.
We all started the day with morning prep at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, I love the rooms in this hotel, they are so bright and roomy, and perfect for photos. The ceremony was held in the Fermenting Cellar, and their backdrop was a wall of white roses, and flower petals that lined at aisle. The reception followed in the same room and was a mix of soft tones, vintage elements like the beautiful floral bird cages you will see below. Against the atmoshere of an old fermenting cellar with all its metal fixtures, wooden pillars and barrels, the design was a real feast for the eyes. Every table, and corner of the space was so different from the next, yet, it all fit together perfectly.
You may remember Carly & Adam’s winter engagement session in Penetanguishene, Ontario posted on our blog earlier this year.  They are a fantastic couple, who were so fun to work with. Actually its hard to call it work when the clients feel like friends. They were married at Toronto’s Historic Distillery District at the Fermenting Cellar. With over 200 guests present, the place was alive with great conversations, dancing and drinks being served throughout the night. We had the pleasure of working with our great friend Elizabeth Johnston, who created the design and look of the wedding, her daughter Birttany who worked as her assistant and a group of outstanding Toronto wedding vendors who made this event truely beautiful.
